Construyendo un concepto de tecnología

This short article of critical reflection is the result of reasoning conducted with the aim of creating a concept for technology.

The methodology used in the reflection has been to merge several concepts and prove a synthesis.

Etymological and logical basis for generating the concept of technology

a) Etymologically the term technology comes from the Greek words:

logos = set of knowledge tekne = art, technics, labour

b) The mixture of terminology is done on the impact or outcome that the know-how of people have in the lives of others

Therefore, according to the formal logical language use, a complex sentence in this reasoning can be concluded as follows:

“People know how to make artifacts or processes in the environment, including plants and animals, to generate wellness or satisfaction of human needs.”

Look at the following word order:

SUBJECT: WHO? VERB: ACTION OBJECT: WHAT? PLACE: WHERE?
People know how to make artifacts or

processes

in the environment, including plants

and animals,

to
generate wellness or

satisfaction of human needs

“Technology is the result of knowledge that can produce artifacts or processes, by modifying the environment, including plants and animals, to generate wellness or satisfaction of human needs.” (César E. Jiménez Ph.D.)

Intangible and tangible outcomes of technology

  1. Technology comprises the key process of transforming or modifying the environment or reality.
  2. The know-how comprises two skill-cognitive processes: (1) Innovation, as transformative process of any device or another fractal well-known process. A technical patent is the result. (2) Invention, as a process performed by transforming the reality to a new device or another process, human creation. A scientific patent is the result.
  3. Technology has two components: (1) epistemology, the <result of knowledge that can produce artifacts or processes>; (2) ontology, < by modifying the environment, including plants and animals, to generate wellness or satisfaction of human needs>.
